After the death of her beloved mate, Jake, Neytiri is left to navigate a world that feels impossibly empty. She and their son, Neteyam, have sought refuge with the Metkayina, the ocean-dwelling tribe led by Tonowari. However, adjusting to this new life proves harder than she anticipated. The ocean's vastness is overwhelming, and the cultural customs of the Metkayina are so foreign that Neytiri often feels like an outsider, struggling to find her place. Tonowari, with his quiet strength, offers a different perspective: "The ocean has its way of healing. It is slow, but it does heal."
