He was never meant to ascend.
A relic of a forgotten lineage, armed with nothing but fragments of knowledge and a flickering ember of will, he steps into the Second Realm-Jeosaver, the Crystalline Labyrinth of Mind and Frost.

Here, strength means nothing without clarity.
Here, rage and passion become poison.
And here, every mistake becomes a reflection that hunts you.

Thrown into a realm of impossible landscapes and paradoxes, the Ascended finds no guiding hand, no familiar flame-only cold, calculating silence and impossible riddles. The sky above him pulses with sentient light. The ground beneath him shifts with conceptual logic. Time twists. Thought fragments. Death is not always physical.

His only map? Ancient scrolls half-erased by time.
His only allies? Those who lost themselves in pursuit of reason.
His only strength? A soul that refuses to shatter.

As his Sigil of Ember flares in defiance of the realm's order, it brands him as an anomaly. A paradox.
Hunted by Crystal Shades, challenged by Prism Keepers, and stalked by the Logic Storms, he must choose a path:

Will he reshape his mind to match Jeosaver's cold perfection, sacrificing who he was for what he could become?

Or will he ignite the frost with his flame, forging a third way-a path of will and warmth, balancing chaos and control?

With each trial, he draws closer to the heart of the realm-the Axiom Throne, a seat of final truth that only one may claim.

But truth has a price.
And not all ascendants return with their name.

They say death is the end. For me, death was only the beginning. The last thing I remembered was betrayal-a blade through my chest, warm blood spilling, and the bitter taste of regret. But instead of eternal darkness, I awoke in a void of endless stars, suspended between worlds. Then came the voice. [Ding! Congratulations, Host. You have been chosen by the World-Binding System.] Panels of light appeared before me, filled with rules written in cold, merciless words. [Your mission: Travel across countless realms. Shatter schemes. Crush enemies. Complete your tasks.] [Ultimate Mission: Save the Supreme God. Failure = soul annihilation.] A silhouette flickered in the void-a man cloaked in shadows, tall and terrifyingly powerful. Even faceless, his presence was suffocating. [He will appear in every world. Sometimes as your ally, sometimes as your enemy, sometimes as the one who cannot let you go.] My lips curled in a cold smile. So be it. If the system wanted me to play its little game, I'd play it my way. Scheming queens, arrogant nobles, hypocritical cultivators, and false heroes-let them come. I'd crush them all beneath my heel. But one thing I swore: I would never bow to him. Not to the so-called God. Not to any man. At least... that's what I thought. Because across every world, in every fragment of him I met-he watched me with eyes that burned. A love too deep, too dangerous, too relentless. And in the end... I would have no choice but to face him.

~PARAGON CINEMATIC UNIVERSE: PHASE 1, BOOK 5~ *This novel serves as a concurrent story to both Viper's Bite and Shocker Rising. It does reference some minor events from those novels, but this story may otherwise be enjoyed separately.* "Alpin would rather have Flamestar burn the entire world alive than see a woman ascend the Boreal Throne." -Firebird The Mage Aspects are an otherworldly order of elementalists who hail from another dimension. The four sects that compose them-the Fire Sect, the Ice Sect, the Water Sect, and the Earth Sect-work among the humans of Earth in secret, protecting them from natural disasters, as well as other more trivial crimes should the need arise. Quite possibly the Aspects' greatest pupil so far is the 17-year-old girl named Cassie, given the designation "Coldsnap" by her colleagues. Initially born with a slight vision defect, she has shown immense potential in her ice manipulation abilities, rivaling that of the Ice Sect's leader, Frost King Alpin, who sees her as a threat to his rule; furthermore, her clashing views on humanity compared to his own don't help much, for she believes that the Aspects should form proper relationships with Earth's inhabitants while Alpin thinks they should stay hidden. Fearful that she could usurp him one day, the Frost King banishes her from the Aspects entirely and casts her down to Earth, lying that he is preparing her for a "much greater purpose", when it was truly just an act of envy. Unfortunately, this paves the way for the power-hungry leader of the Fire Sect, Morton Flamestar, to begin enacting his plans to conquer Earth and drown it in an eternal flame, seeing humanity as not being worth the Aspects' trouble. Now, it's up to Coldsnap to unite the other three sects and push back against Flamestar's corruption, before the world's entire population perishes in the fires of his hatred. • Cover designed by @Castiment

Disclaimer: This is my own work, if a character seem to be similar, it may be due to a coincidence or may also be because I was inspired of their work. I tried my best to make a unique content. In a world where the heavens themselves weave intricate schemes, Li Gang is reborn into the brutal cultivation realm of the Divine Spirit World. Here, power is absolute, and the strongest warriors and immortals manipulate fate, treating mortals and weaker cultivators as mere pawns in their grand designs. Armed with the memories of his past life and a mind sharper than any blade, Li Gang quickly realizes that raw strength alone is not enough to survive. Every sect, clan, and faction hides venomous plots, and even disciples are mere tools for their masters' ambitions. The path to power is paved with betrayal, deception, and blood. But Li Gang is no ordinary pawn. With unparalleled intellect and an unwavering will, he begins to turn the tide-navigating deadly conspiracies, outwitting ancient masterminds, and twisting their own schemes against them. Whether through manipulation, ruthless strategy, or sheer defiance, he refuses to be controlled. Yet, the deeper he delves into the world's secrets, the more terrifying the truth becomes. The so-called "Immortals" are not as invincible as they claim. They, too, are caught in a game far greater than he ever imagined. The true masterminds lurk in the shadows, pulling the strings of even the highest cultivators. To break free, Li Gang must not only rise to power but shatter the very foundations of this world's control. Can he outscheme the schemers and become the ultimate ruler, or will he, too, fall victim to the grand design? In a world of lies, only the sharpest mind reigns supreme. (Some grammatical errors at the beginning chapters. It is fixed later on!)
