He chuckled, a low, dangerous sound that promised storms. "Fate, my love, is a fickle thing. And destiny? Destiny has already decided. You were born for me. Every beat of your heart echoes my name."
He stepped closer, invading her space.

Her breath hitched, a betraying tremor in her resolve. "Never," she whispered, but the word lacked conviction, drowned in the rising tide of a passion she couldn't deny.
