On Cybertron, mechs don't get to choose their future. Your district decides that for you. Orion Pax, like everybot else in District 12, was built for mining-to obey the Council and serve Sentinel Prime. But Orion has never been great at following the rules.
When he's chosen for the Trials of Transformation-a brutal, televised fight to the death for the whole planet to watch-he finds himself surrounded by manipulators, cheaters, trained gladiators, and desperate mechs who will do anything to survive. He's not a soldier. He doesn't even have a transformation cog.
But that's not going to stop him.
He's bold, he's stubborn, and, as Elita once told him, "You have this blind optimism."
The Trials were meant to be a lesson-a reminder of the Capitol's power.
But Orion is about to turn them into something the Council never saw coming.

A regular day of mining turns chaotic when an unknown creature somehow found its way into the energon mines. With a sudden disruption, all the miners had no choice but to search for whatever had gotten into mines and almost cause the loss of mined energon into a deep, dark pit of the mines. However, when they find what had caused the chaos, it became a shock. A small, frightened sparkling had somehow found her way into the mines now found herself in the hands of someone most of the miners would consider to not be responsible for even caring for a sparkling. A red and blue bot named Orion Pax. With the two stunned, Orion found himself in an awkward situation. Especially as this sparkling bore some resemblance to Orion and his closest friend, D-16. Which quickly becomes a joke among the miners, despite the fact this sparkling clearly came from the city itself. However, with no record of any new sparklings in the medical database, and no information of who the parents of this sparkling might be, the two young mining bots find themselves forced to care for this sparkling as it was quickly decided she would become a mining bot just like them. Which left them both scrambling to learn to even how to care for a sparkling who demanded attention and formulated energon for herself. And that was made even more difficult as it was soon discovered that this sparkling's vocal processor was not functional. Meaning this young spark was mute, and possibly kicked out. However, as time goes by, they learn to teach the young spark to communicate without speech, and discover she had an extreme fear of Sentinel Prime. Neither Orion or D-16 understood the reason. The war has ended, leaving Megatron as a prisoner and Optimus as the new leader of Cybertron. Unwilling to execute Megatron for hate of killing yet another mech, Optimus devises a plan to hopefully change Megatron for the better. But there are always flaws with even the best of plans, so the Prime must take the good with the bad as he tries to show Megatron that even he can feel happiness. Alias is an unusual girl. She doesn't remember who she was when she was younger, her first memory was as a 6 year old, stumbling through the woods into an old abandoned barn, wounded and weak. This is where she meets the equally confused Cybertronian, who she named Nickname. As they grow up and learn about the world around them, they realize that the world is a horrible place. And while Nickname has the Decepticons chasing him, Alias has a group of human sized metal warriors that seem endless and relentless chasing her. (Later revealed by Ratchet as power hunters from early Cybertron.) Oh, and did she mention her metal wings? No, oh well... Once they meet the Autobots though, they seem to have found their peace, until they decide to help the Autobots of course. I mean, after Alias tries to kill them. Megatron isn't a very nice fellow per usual, and he had already stumbled upon the bounty hunters chasing Alias and claimed himself their lord and master.Complete
