This line from The Great Gatsby speaks to the heartbreaking idea of living in a world that values beauty over substance, and how, sometimes, it's easier to live in blissful ignorance. 🌸
The "fool" mentioned here isn't someone unintelligent, but rather someone who is untouched by the harsh realities of life and love. 💔 In this case, the speaker wishes that the girl could remain unaware of the pain and heartbreak around her.
It reflects the tragic nature of love-where sometimes, it's easier to remain in the "foolish" innocence of not knowing the truth, especially when your love is unreciprocated. 💭
It's about choosing ignorance as a form of self-preservation when love isn't returned. 🌙
