But on that beautifully dark evening of March the thirteenth, I looked into the eyes of the man walking towards me and I realized that maybe time travelling would take just a bit longer for humanity to achieve. Long before, gods and goddesses had been the center of life for people all over the world. With their undying devotion and love, the gods and goddesses fed off of this energy that gave them their power to stay in this earth but with the dwindling pool of believers the gods and goddesses have become weak. With so little believers left, they have been slowly fading from the earth's surface. An unknown and powerful force has set up the "Apokaluptein" a fight to the death where gods and goddesses enter their very own selected human to play as their chess piece. With their existence on the line and the pay off of 5 million believers, it's an all-out war that no one wants to lose.

Long ago, 4 gods ruled over humanity since their beginning, but after growing bored, they decided to play a game with humanity. Dividing their power into 52 cards that give humans a part of their power, the gods then disappeared leaving behind a prophecy that said one card wielder would rule over them. You panic, obviously. Era never believed in Gods and magic. Why? Because it wasn't explained by scientists. She doesn't even change her view when she is thrown down the time hole and back to the ancient Greece -time when people believed in everything, especially Gods of the Olympus. But her talk of "Gods don't exist" lands her into a festival of the Gods - a festival where people marked by one of the Gods of the Olympus fight for their life by performing something sociated with the god that they represent. And she is supposed to survive when she is marked by the God of the Underworld himself. "Are those books?" I asked, I walked up to the tree with caution. It did smell beautiful though, no lie. I looked at the books that hung off the branches, they were shaped like petals, making sure they were hidden. But who hid them is the question. They had names, and numbers, "What's it say?" I asked Lisa, as she grabbed one from the tree, "It says safety pin?" I looked at her, "Read the rest." We took each one down, and read them. "Keep breathing 2, Man in the mask 3, Legends 4, Stand and fight forever 5, The awakening 6, the unexpected 7, the unknown world 8 , time of our lives 9, trouble makers 10, we head for disaster but live for the danger 11, when time stops 12, Disorder 13, Deja vu 14, would you believe me 15, Like a boy 16, Repeat 17, it's our time 18, Wait this one is missing!" I read the spot that was missing, "Dear my Dreamer? But where is it?" I asked, and Lisa shrugged. We looked for the missing book, but no luck. "Hey baby, this one is writing itself!?" Lisa shouted, I ran towards her. "It's called, The Ghost of you?" she looked at me. It was writing down everything we said and thought. What the fuck. "That's kind of creepy no?" Lisa said.

In the Absence of Light
I laugh at you pitiful humans who scurry about this Earth with out a purpose seeking only life, but finding only death. I welcome death. I know what is coming, and the Goddess of Darkness will welcome me into her kingdom when I die. For now, I serve her purpose. I fight wars in her name, and serve as her avatar when needed. When she first came to me, she burned the love out of my heart. Now I find only humor in silly human affections. Love. It's such a short and despicable word. Maybe I could just enjoy fighting until I died, if it wasn't for the city. My city. My own corrupted city that cast me out for saving one of the city's own. The city I spit upon for its treatment of the gods and goddesses chosen people. I swear that one day, I will come back.
