Between Power and Madness - an empire on the brink, a girl caught in the storm. When Lorena is pulled from the ashes of her destroyed village, she thinks the worst is over. But her so-called rescue marks the beginning of something far more dangerous: drawn into the heart of the Roman Empire, she finds herself entangled in a web of power, ambition, and betrayal. Geta, the thoughtful son of the emperor, longs for order in a world spiraling into chaos. Caracalla, his brother, burns with ambition-and perhaps something darker. As tensions rise between them, Lorena stands in the crossfire, forced to choose between silence and survival, between loyalty and truth. A gripping historical drama of passion, political intrigue, and inner conflict-about courage, survival, and how much one can lose before losing oneself. Note: This is a self-translated version of my original German novel Zwischen Macht und Wahnsinn. I'm still refining the English edition and always welcome suggestions for improvement. "I have learned to command armies, to bend the will of men... yet I find myself powerless before you. Your words, your presence, even the smallest glance-it unsettles me more than any battle ever could. And though I know I should keep my distance, I cannot. I do not wish to." A story between Lucretia Bellona and Emperor Geta. Slow burn
