Four strangers with diverse pasts meet in an aged care facility, each drawn by a shared devotion to caring for the elderly. Over time, their bond grows beyond work, forming a chosen family that comforts, supports, and uplifts one another through both the chaos and beauty of their profession-and life itself. Main Characters: 1. Kate (Chinese) - Quiet, observant, and detail-oriented. She often speaks through action and brings a calm presence to the team. Still adjusting to cultural shifts, but finds peace in routines and caregiving. 2. Josephine (Nepali) - Empathetic and grounded. She's often the emotional anchor in conversations and connects easily with residents through storytelling, rituals, and her nurturing nature. 3. Skye (Filipino) - Bright, spontaneous, and a little chaotic in the best way. She brings laughter and life into the workplace, singing, cracking jokes, and making residents feel young again. Behind her energy is a layer of unresolved grief and longing for home. 4. Sam (Fil-Aussie) - The steady hand. As a team leader or manager, she keeps things running smoothly while mentoring others. She's calm, logical, and motherly-but also firm when she needs to be. With years of experience, she knows the weight the job carries.

They told her to "mind the gap," but no one warned her about the bedpans, baffling slang, and the sacred art of making tea. In Mind the Bedpan, a Filipina nurse shares her wildly honest, often hilarious, and deeply human journey of working in the UK's National Health Service. From navigating cultural quirks (like being politely asked if she wanted to "spend a penny") to decoding British humor, surviving night shifts, and introducing adobo to confused coworkers, this book is a love letter to nurses, migrants, and anyone brave enough to start over somewhere unfamiliar. Told with wit, warmth, and the kind of wisdom that only comes after 4 back-to-back shifts and one too many cups of cold coffee, this is more than just a memoir-it's a celebration of resilience, rice, and finding your place in the chaos. Perfect for: • Nurses and healthcare workers • OFWs and immigrants • Readers who love heart, humor, and healing in equal measure So grab a cuppa, get comfy, and don't forget-mind the bedpan.
