How well can you truly know a person? How many hours, seconds, years need to pass before you truly know the soul that lies under the skin?

(Y/n) (L/n) is a high decorated scholar, taking her studies towards the forensic science world in 1890 London. Very introverted and the no-nonsense type, (Y/n) is initially taken aback by a partnership with the Queen's Guard Dog, Ciel Phantomhive, as well as his (arrogant) butler Sebastian Michaelis. The case required Ciel's connection, Sebastian's charisma, and (Y/n)'s dedication, but there is plenty of mishap to be had between (Y/n) and that conceited butler of Ciel's.

The two manage to play nice, and over time kindle a type of comradary between them, Sebastian appreciating (Y/n)'s intellect and her his charms and appreciation for the quiet things in life. Although, (Y/n) begins to become increasingly invested in the small cracks of the butler's facade, knowing that she reflects the same fractures. They become invested in the puzzles of each other, battling to see which will crack under the other's pressure, but what happens to the pressure when the secrets we keep hidden, that no one dares to speak of in the emptiest of rooms, bleed out of us like wine?
