When August was ten, he moved in with his dad and half-brother. That was also the unfortunate year he met Elijah Malone-his brother's best friend and the absolute bane of his existence. For four long years, the two were locked in a never-ending war of insults, side-eyes, and occasional near-violence. But by the time high school rolled around, they struck an unspoken truce: total mutual denial. They didn't talk, didn't look at each other, and definitely didn't acknowledge the shared history of chaos. It worked. Until it didn't. One night, during one of his brother's infamous parties, Elijah stumbles into August's room... and promptly passes out. In his bed. Yeah. That's when things get complicated.

Luke has spent the last few year trying to live as himself after finally coming out as trans. He's used to the stares, the whispers, and the wrong names. What he's not used to are his brother's loud, perfect lacrosse friends taking over the house every weekend now that they're all seniors. Especially Wi Youngjae, the one who never knows when to shut up. When Young makes a thoughtless, transphobic remark one night, Luke swears he'll never forgive him. But what starts as open hostility turns into something stranger... arguments that last too long, apologies that sound like confessions, and a tension Luke can't name. He hates Young. He's sure of it. So why does it feel like he's losing every time he looks at him?
