Rora is a Korean girl who lives on a small farm with her family. She works hard every day but always dreams about what's out there beyond her village. Life is simple but she loves learning new things. Asa comes from a rich Japanese family. She has everything but wants to go to university and make her own way. Her parents expect alot from her and she feels pressure all the time. When Asa and her 2 best friends comes to stay at the farm for summer vacation, the two girls meet. At first they don't get along because they're so different. But then they find out they both want freedom in their lives. During the summer, they become close friends and maybe something more. Rora shows Asa how beautiful farm life can be. Asa tells Rora about university and the big world outside. Both girls have to deal with what their familys want and what society expects. When summer ends, Asa has to leave for school. They write letters to each other and try to stay connected, but it's hard when they live such different lives.
