The fanfic takes place after the V3 Killing game season, which turned out to be a living video game drama and the students weren't actually dead, they were swiped from the game set everytime they're announced 'killed' or 'executed'.

He had of course found it impressive how what was most likely a lie was so widely believed with little proof that it wasn't just some made-up concept used for our own entertainment and to explan day-to-day inconveniences.
