The man walked up to the dark forest with a raven-haired girl who had dirty, old clothes. She was dead but looked like she was asleep. He kneeled down slowly as it started to rain. The wind was howling in all corners of the forest, creating an eerie atmosphere. The man put the girl on the ground.
"O daughters of the hollow trees,
Mothers of shadow, wind, and flame,
By root and blood and bended knee,

With flesh I pay, with soul I bend,
