As an optimistic person, I've always believed that I am destined for great things. Turns out one of those "great things" would include moving into a house filled with men (or boys, you be the judge) blessed with freakish powers that are beyond human nature. Second would be to find myself enjoying the presence of a moody, intelligent scientist (or was it engineer? No idea!) who'd spend his days building robots and suits. Friends Unrequited... Maybe
"I just realised something." I say, breaking the long silence from the journey. "I'm not gonna be too sad if we don't end up finding her." I speak looking straight ahead as I drive down the road, a million thoughts running through my head. I continue, "Maybe cause to travel is better than to arrive. It's actually what has happened along the way that counts; the tears, the falls and the friendship. It's about the journey and not the destination. And I know she'd think the same. So, I guess, we just gotta trust that the future is gonna work itself out like it's supposed to." I finish off and the other two don't say anything. I glance towards them to see them watch me with apprehension. We all fall silent once again as the trees pass by us, unable to stop thinking about that one silly, reckless knobhead.
