It was calm, for just a moment, the weight of the world disappeared. Though knowing my luck, it won't last very long. I felt the air shift before chaos struck. A huge rumbling struck, and the mountain shook in response to the cracking of the earth. The lanterns surrounding the patio lightly shuddered, the bright fireflies summoned by my aura, danced in fright. I could sense the heavenly officials inside their golden palaces jolt in surprise. The constant shouting became clearer the more I let my senses take control. "Which new dignitary has ascended?!"
"Such a grandiose entrance!"
Though my palace was placed strategically on the edge of Heaven's kingdom, no thought, speech, or whisper can hide from my highly trained senses. Still, the ruckus was loud enough that even without my talents, I would be alerted to the chaos. I tuned in again when the initial wonder in their voices changed to disgust and shock.
A light smile spilled onto my face, no one present to witness this momentous occasion, fortunately. I had a reputation to uphold. I could feel the string tighten around my heart by the presence that now graces the halls of heaven once more. Crown Prince Xie Lian has ascended for the third time, unexpectedly but not shockingly. Standing up from my position on the garden floor, I made my way out of my palace once more. 'Let's see what mess he has gotten into now.'
