Kintsugi: The Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the broken pieces with resin dusted with gold, silver, or platinum power. Translating to "golden repair," the artform celebrates the beauty in the broken and highlights it rather than hiding it. ~~~ Leo and Leila Gomez have gone through Hell and back multiple times. Experiencing things no adult, let alone child, should ever have to go through, the fifteen year olds learned to accept the fact that there was no escape. They only needed each other, after all. When their step-father suddenly dies, the twins are shocked to learn that this whole time, they had three older brothers. Brothers they didn't even know existed. The Agosti brothers, elated at the arrival of their baby siblings, immediately realize something is wrong. Leila can't speak to them. Leo can't last a day without lashing out at them. The twins push them away, steal food, and refuse to be separated from one another. But while the Agosti brothers try to fix the broken pieces and figure out their younger siblings' secrets, they also hide their own.

Gemma isn't what you would call normal. With a genius IQ, a not so great home life, and a hard time staying in tight spaces, the girl's got a few issues. She never thought that she would be saying that a new issue was four older brothers she had no idea about. Brothers who thought she died twelve years ago? But not everything is as it appears with our lovely little Gemma; same with her new brothers. Nothing is as it appears, it seems. With a past worse than expected at first glance, literal demons that can bite them in the ass, and a couple of plain grouchy Starbucks attendants, this will be one crazy ride. But will this ride destroy the family or bring it back together? Don't look at me, I don't know. You'll have to read to figure that out. (The chapter titles are in Portuguese but the story is in English, I promise you).
