In an empire where magic is a weapon and the Magi are its wielders, power is not earned, it's taken. Every year, children are tested, sorted, and conscripted into a life of obedience or obscurity. When the Magi came to the orphanage, they tore the lives of two young girls apart with a single choice. Harper, quiet but burning bright, was chosen. Vivian, fierce and unyielding, was left in the dust, clutching only the pieces of a broken promise.

Eight years later, the world is fraying at the edges. War stirs in silence, rebellions brews beneath the surface, and the Magi, once unquestioned, are no longer seen as untouchable. Vivian has grown into a fighter with a sharp tongue and a sharper aim, carrying her resentment like a second skin. Harper is no longer the girl who wept and grieved when she was taken. She is a piece of the Imperium now, the Iron fist of tyranny. Their bond has frayed and fate has many tests still in store for them, will they remember each-other, and will they remember the stars that once cradled them?

Hey all! Im Katie! I am fairly new to uploading my writing anywhere online (this is mostly to give me motivation to actually complete the damn thing). Comments and constructive criticism are wholly welcome! I cant guarantee an upload schedule, i'm hoping for weekly / bi-weekly at least and anywhere from 1000-1200 words a chapter.
