"In a world before humans, two clans wage a silent war beneath sun and moon."

Born into the shadowed traditions of the Moon Clan, young Kuro dreamed of becoming one of the revered Umbreon. But fate had other plans. A tragic mistake leads him to evolve into an Espeon-marked not by the sun, but by the moon.

Exiled. Rejected. Alone.

Now hunted by both clans, Kuro must survive in a world that sees him as a betrayal incarnate. But when he crosses paths with a sharp-tongued Treecko named Kohga, the journey of an outcast begins...

He isn't the chosen one. He never was. But that won't stop him from carving a path all his own.
This is the story of the one who walks between light and shadow-
the one who bears the Mark of the Moon....

𝐕𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞. 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐈𝐧𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. Echo Cereus, an Umbreon with a case of selective mutism, is shipped off to the Kalos Kingdom with his estranged brother, Tanuki Cereus, a Flareon with a chronic case of clumsiness. Objective? Study the artifact known as the Evolutionite under the tutelage of the kingdom's rulers. For the socially adverse Echo, the situation looked bleak. Things only go from bleak to dire as he is sent to a small town and has to interact with Pokémon he isn't too fond of. However, things are never what they seem. There is more to Kalos than what meets the eye. Beneath the pristine surface of the region and the kingdom lie various concerns bubbling to the surface. Discrimination, harmful stereotypes, and dangerous Pokémon become quite noticeable over time. In an unfamiliar place, the estranged brothers can only rely on each other and face the turmoil that's been eating at their relationship since their childhood. *I don't own the Pokémon franchise, nor am I the owner of the art used for this cover.
