Maddie James is a 16 year old foster child. She's lucky to have families take her in but it's not the best when they abuse her daily. She's learned to cope with the pain but not in good ways. When Maddie gets adopted and is sent miles and miles away from everywhere she's ever known she doesn't know what to make of it. When Maddie arrives at her destination she realizes that maybe this home wont be so bad.

What Maddie doesn't know is why her mother and father gave her up in the first place. Maddie knows that the people she's been with have all hid secrets about who she is. But what Maddie doesn't know is that her adoptive family is hiding something huge from her.
