A long time ago there were various tribes ruled by earthly tradition
Each tribe had beliefs that often clashed with each other, this would bring them to war. This is more common with the Ic'ar and the Pryo people.
A few years passed and Elements fell from the sky in various regions, the people of each region would then take possession of said element and make it part of their culture. The strongest soldier is given the element as a testament to their peoples strength.
These elements would then reduce the occurance of wars as the elements were new, un heard of and no-one would risk challenging an unknown power.
