Some stories aren't meant to be closed -
just paused,
mid-sentence,
waiting for breath,
or maybe just brave enough fingers
to turn the page again.

This was supposed to be yours on our one-year anniversary.
But time had other plans, and hearts don't always follow calendars.
Still, every word here belongs to you.

You were my muse before you knew it,
my peace before I deserved it,
and my favourite part of every day - even now.

These poems, these thoughts, this whole book...
It's everything I felt but never knew how to say.

Even now, as just friends, I carry you in all my quiet moments.
And maybe, just maybe, one day you'll find your way back
to these pages -
and maybe to me.

It didn't matter that it still made sense to me. That I still held on to all those what ifs and unanswered questions of us. Still hoped for things to work out somehow. I'm weak and broken, tormented by monsters that keep reaching for me, touching my body, hurting me, living marks on my skin and soul. I don't know how it feels to sleep without waking up in the middle of the night sweating, incapable of defending myself, too afraid to scream for help. Until I meet him. He is strong enough to cast away the nightmares, to fight my demons scaring them away, to erase my scars with his tender touch. He teaches me to fight back, to be strong, to scream for help because now there is someone always coming to my rescue. Because now I have someone who loves me. Now I have him, my beautiful warrior, my soulmate, my leelen. We might not have met like normal people would, but again we are not normal and we are definitely not people. Even so our bond is stronger than anything and anyone. But finding my leelan is not the end of my story, it's just the beginning...

As you may journey through chapters of this book based on my life and events throughout. A little sprinkle of the chapters are fictional but nearly all are non-fiction straight from reality. Hopefully you will love this journey with me. Few of these poems are dedicated to my friends or based on their experiences/point of view. Most poems may contain heartbreak or sad feelings but still the majority of the poems are about love, happiness and positivity. I am so glad that I am in a better place now, looking back on my life just a while ago I was not the person I am today. With the help of people I love the most I have overcome everything I needed to dodge.
