VAMPIREYA: THE ETERNAL RETURN
By Eliah Roy Cade
Years have passed since the vampire huntress Damira Jerovic first faced the horrors of the night. But darkness never truly dies... it returns-stronger, crueler, eternal.
The infamous vampire Klaus Merkel travels across the desolate region in a rolling coffin, sealed within an ancient carriage pulled by two spectral, jet-black horses. Their infernal eyes blaze like embers, spewing fire from their nostrils and mouths as they tear through the night. Behind him lies a path of death and ruin. And behind that path walks Damira, the last light in a land swallowed by shadows.
She is not alone in her pursuit. The Sleepless-a group of expert vampire hunters: Vin Warlock, Darry Louisiana, Julieta Carrión, and Eric Middleton-seek to join her, but Damira refuses to share her burden. In the distant town of Stroghoff perched atop a hill, Commissioner Rodolf Hauser and his loyal deputies try to maintain order, unaware of the supernatural terror fast approaching.
Klaus is protected by a grotesque entourage:
Mircea, a merciless mutant with zombie-like features;
Sira, a sublime time traveler from another dimensional plane with devastating powers and silver-gray hair that Klaus admires;
Sirox is a faceless being of radiant light whose presence feels both celestial and terrifying;
Marilana is a fierce warrior made of bark and thorns who wield plants as deadly weapons.
Vampireya: The Eternal Return is a feverish tale of horror, vengeance, and unstoppable pursuit. A haunting journey across cursed lands where blood flows freely, evil wears many forms, and the hunter is forever marked by her eternal war.
She is the Communicator of the New Area. The Communicators do the one job other humans are too afraid to do, communicating and preventing violence between wolves and humans.
"My name is Alara. I'm the new Communicator. This is my first day. I-"
"I know what Communicators are all about," he interrupts. "I've met many over the years. You speak of understanding and cooperation while your guns are loading behind your backs."
"That's not-"
"Save your diplomatic bullshit for someone who hasn't heard it before." His voice remains calm, which somehow makes it more terrifying. "I want the human who killed one of our own."
"We have laws-"
"Your laws." The contempt is undisguised now. "Your laws that somehow always find humans innocent of crimes against wolves. Your laws that punish a wolf's defense of territory as aggression. Your laws that treat us as animals when it suits you and as criminals when it doesn't."
This is the first book in the series, so please don't expect anything perfect just yet. It's a first draft and a work in progress :)
