When returning to her hometown of Port-Christi for her father's will hearing, 27-year-old Marie Chambers anticipates nothing more than an inheritance and a possible return to her unemployed boyfriend of seven years -- Adam Kinsley.
Instead, while sorting through her late father's boxes and belongings in preparation for redecorating, she unknowingly disturbs her former entomologist father's unsupervised locusts.

Over time, the species breeds and spreads through the coastal town, filling the once-quiet marinas and business centers with horrified screams.
Tired of being chased out of schools, homes, and stores in frenzies, the townspeople formulate a plan to exterminate the locusts by any means necessary.
