What is the worth of a soul? That is the question that the Magistrates often try to answer. Faced with criminals, low life's and the undesirables, they weigh their actions against their sins and enact a fitting punishment.

It is hardly ever fair.

Solus, a young man who stays out of trouble yet always ends up in the thick of it, has been put on trial. His chances are slim, his reputation proceeds him. He is the Accursed Specter, he is an undesirable, a criminal, a low life. He feels little empathy towards the Magistrates, and likewise, they feel nothing for him.

He is a threat, a plague. They are the solution, the cure.

But in a system that is at war with itself, justice is often forgotten about. And Solus knows this, better than most. Better than he knows.
