After ambushing the real Kyoshi Warriors during the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender: Book Two - Earth, Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee infiltrate Ba Sing Se, posing as Kyoshi warriors wanting to serve the Earth Kingdom. Assigned to one of the elite Dai Li captains, Azula works her way to earn the trust of the Dai Li and exploits the dark secrets and the hidden fractures of Ba Sing Se. With her brother Zuko missing and presumed lost after a failed mission, Azula seizes the opportunity to capture both the Avatar and the Earth Kingdom's capital itself. Told through Azula's perspective, this story traces her relentless climb to power and the unraveling of Ba Sing Se from within. But as the city falls and her victory nears, the price she has to pay becomes clear. Will she be willing to pay for it?
