Summer 1985. Somewhere between L.A. and Seattle, a boy becomes a man. Buck Star has a girlfriend problem. And a bully problem. Chet Armstrong, Hybrid High's captain of the football team, captain of the cheerleading squad, and owner of the town's most popular juice stand, as well as Buck's high school bully for the last four years, has just delivered the ultimate insult: stealing Buck's girlfriend, Jennifer Mills, on the night of his eighteenth birthday. High School Buck might've put up with this full-frontal assault, but Buck's about to graduate, and his days of being the victim are over. In a quest for revenge, Buck seeks out the wisdom of a karate master to help him defeat Chet. But Mr. Ken Kabuki makes a startling claim: "It's 1985. Karate's out. Coffee's in." Buck understands. Chet is also graduating. No longer will he have football and cheerleading to bolster his ego and power. All he has left now is the juice stand. And if Buck Star is going to get back at Chet Armstrong for four years of abuse and one night of girlfriend-stealing, he's going to do it by hitting him where it hurts the most: taking the one legacy he still has any control over right out from his grips...and maybe try to get back the girl while he's at it. But neither one is prepared for the antagonizing forces that loom over the city, forces that see all, interfere with all, and want to conquer all, through money or other means. Buck has to learn how to make and sell coffee, but he also has to learn how to survive as a business owner in Hybrid City and still win the 60-day bet he's entered with his high school bully, a bet that if he loses will force him to become Chet's employee and continual target of abuse, threatening his future and livelihood for years to come. And then he'll never get the girl. And so it begins. All Rights Reserved
