Ainsely Burk, the girl who sat in front of the class, answered all the questions, a goody-to-shoes they called her. She had light brown curly hair, blue eyes, and she was a little on the short side. Ainsely rarely spoke to anyone in the grade except for Collin Cavanaugh. Collin had dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, blacks frames, and was a little taller than Ainsely. He was a quiet boy who sat next to her, but never spoke to her. Finally in their Honors Chemistry they had to work together, so they talked only about the project. Until, Collin asked her if they could hang out. Will it become more than just lab partners?

The Road We Took

Lena had never been the type to mix business with pleasure. She was focused on her studies, trying to get into a good college, and keeping up with her friends. But Jake... Jake was different. He had always been the charming, easy-going guy with a reputation for making girls swoon. He was popular, the kind of guy who could get away with anything. He had the perfect balance of laid-back attitude and serious looks, with messy dark hair that always looked like he just rolled out of bed and deep brown eyes that were always looking for mischief. Lena, on the other hand, was quiet and reserved, the kind of girl who kept to herself and kept her head down. She wasn't exactly shy, but she didn't make waves. Jake had been her best friend for years, ever since they were assigned to the same biology lab in freshman year. She'd always admired how easily he fit in with everyone-he could talk to anyone, and everyone loved him. They were the perfect pair: she with her head in the books, him with his charm and sports prowess. He'd always made her laugh, and somehow, she had become the one person he didn't have to be on for. He didn't have to impress her. But that changed last fall.
