This book is satire. It's not to mock the anime/manga. The anime/manga is a mature and serious topic type. This book will delve into deep topics, such as childhood trauma, morbid fascination with death, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, delusion, loss of innocence, etc. It's meant to make fun of how a specific type of fanfiction is terrible now, how it dumbs down serious topics addressed in franchises, how it romanticizes characters who should not be romanticized, how it takes away important qualities of characters that people relate to, or people hate. Osamu Dazai is an example of a man of serious damage that people romanticize (they romanticize his burden of being alive, not seeing himself as qualified to be human). I am not Dazai. But I find it uncomfortable when someone says they would "die with him 😍😍" without taking into account his heavy weight of presence that he wishes did not have to exist. Now, if the person who said that had said I like this instead: "I would die with him...", I would feel great concern for this person, perhaps because it gives off a sense of "this person is not okay", someone who would need actual support. See, I'm thinking too much. This is my fatal flaw. To himself, Dazai was not human, but to someone like me, he was the only true human who didn't see it because everyone he'd seen were not human themselves. Maybe not the "only" true human. But one of the few. And it makes me sad that what we are taught is humanity isn't really humanity.
