It is now 2037, a meteor has struck the Earth and destroyed half of the world. The southern plains have been untouched, leaving me and my best friend just outside of the hazard zone. The Japanese Government knew about it, neglecting to tell the rest of us what is to come. They have been the only country unaffected, other than those of the southern hemisphere. Julie, my best friend, had planned this camping trip for us. It was supposed to be a weekend long hike and camp but by the second day, our homes and families gone. A sonic boom was heard and felt as the meteor hit. Conformation of the disaster was from our portable radio, dad always told me how important it was for me to have one. I never understood it until now, all of the prepping he put me through. I know how to survive because of him and now he is gone. Word has spread that Aliens came down but it’s absurd. The government has not said much about it, only that it was in fact a meteor and it wiped us clean. Julie and me have visited the boarders of the destruction area. It resembled a desert, but the early and cold February breeze tickled our cheeks. If I looked hard enough, I’d think there was greenery off in the distance. Merely a trick of the eye, I’m sure. All Rights Reserved
