Butterfly Blood

The fae folk had been hiding from humanity for centuries. The dangerous and violent creatures that killed indiscriminately and destroyed everything in their paths. Still as humanity's eyes became more numerous and their civilizations grew, the fae got ready for their eventual discovery.
That was the plan, until the day that monsters spilled forth from the mountain. The fae had convinced themselves over the ages that the human monster war was just a fable. A horrible nightmarish fairy tale, because if a race called monsters didn't stand a chance against the humans then what chance did the delicate fae have against them?
One thing was obvious though, The fae folk needed to reach out to the monsters and secure a relationship before anyone else, there survival depended on it.
