They were no ordinary structures. Within 24 hours, these "spikes" have birthed themselves from the Earth's skin, events-aware, ever-shifting. Their patterns defy known physics, mutating unobserved, and vanish without a trace. Each emergence a message in a language of recursion.

OBELISK explores video logs, field reports, and evidence of humanity's desperate encounter with these alien phenomenon.

"If you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you." - Friedrich Nietzsche

The Memory Tangle by DamienWByrnes2020
1 part Complete Mature
The Archive is a memory storage system created by ["MindSync Industries"] to help people curate their memories, allowing them to erase painful moments and preserve cherished ones. Over time, it has evolved into a tool of control, subtly altering and replacing memories to manipulate the population. As the Archive begins to fail, people's memories blend and distort, causing confusion and a loss of identity. It represents both technological advancement and a dystopian means of controlling society by rewriting personal histories. --- Copyright 2024 by Damien W. Byrnes All rights reserved. The Altered. by _fiinch_

guys please don't read this anymore lmao i write totally differently now💋 _________________ In a future where humans are genetically modified -- 'altered' -- at the age of sixteen, the world has been, until now, a safe place. Without changing a person's personality, undergoing the Alteration perfects their appearance, IQ, and even their immunity to diseases. No human passes the age of sixteen without being Altered. In the blink of an eye, things change. An ominous message is sent out to all of those below the age of sixteen, providing precise instructions that suggest they flee. Simultaneously, a deadly virus starts to spread all about the world, attacking only the Altered -- every human over the age of sixteen. The virus eats at the modified human brain, and soon the Unaltered begin to realise that the Altered are losing their minds. Home is no longer safe. Friends and family turn on one another, losing control of their own minds and bodies. The Unaltered aren't safe. Even if the virus isn't attacking them, the ones with the virus are. Set on a pristine, futuristic Earth, this is the apocalypse like you've never seen it before. (Rated mature for graphic depictions of violence and mild language.) Goddess of Discord by iuripiragibe
7 parts Complete Mature
In the year 2125, truth is a variable and chaos is the only constant. A cryptic oracle-astrophysicist on the remote Eris Station has an apocalyptic vision and whispers a single word - "Sraknova" - triggering a chain reaction that threatens to rewrite reality itself. Back on Earth, washed-up journalist Orwell Matthew becomes the centerpiece of a quantum conspiracy after a routine interview with a senator ends in murder. As his world implodes, the brightest minds of a generation are hurled into the brutal selection process of the Nova Foundation. In the shadows, General MDK of GOES plays lives like poker chips while corporate directors wage a cold war for control and forbidden technology. All paths, secrets, and nightmares converge on one name: Sraknova. As sabotage and experiments escalate, time and identity begin to fracture: entangled particles defy causality, telemetry violates relativity, paranoia spreads like a virus. The Palace - part collective unconscious, part extradimensional mind-labyrinth - starts to tether fates, memories, and ruins, as every dialogue pulses with tension over free will, meaning, and cosmic absurdity. Goddess of Discord isn't your typical space opera. Fragmented, polyphonic, razor-sharp, it blends investigation, dark humor, brutal introspection, and existential warfare. Beauty is found in disorder; the true protagonist is collapse itself - scientific, social, and deeply personal. For readers who crave cerebral sci-fi, quantum weirdness, power games, and unforgettable characters unafraid of sarcasm or symbolic violence. If you enjoyed Children of Time, The Quantum Thief, Diaspora, or Dark, prepare for something stranger. In a future where truth is negotiable and the collective unconscious can be hacked, the real question isn't "who's in control?" - but "who still believes control exists?"
The Virus Within (Original rough draft) by CrystalScherer

Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. This book has a slightly darker outlook at the beginning than my usual stories, but it has some humor further along. Definitely not a horror story, although it has its share of action. 4 updates a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday! Copyright April 2017. All Rights Reserved. Liminal Hollow

7 parts Ongoing

The worlds we inhabit are known to us. Their form and function familiar enough that even when the unusual happens, it doesn't go beyond our beliefs. Yet not every world is equal in that regard. Some embrace the supernatural that others spurned. Scientific advancements come at different rates, and what one world considers normal is unlikely to be the same on others. Yet when the boundaries between worlds begin to weaken, the denizens of those worlds will find themselves inexplicably drawn into a battle they could never have imagined, struggling alongside those not even their wildest dreams could have conjured. Their lives separate, yet inextricably connected. Will they be able to save their worlds from destruction? What secrets of the universe will they unearth? And will any of them discover the truth behind the Liminal Hollow?
