He leaned casually against the doorframe, that infuriating smile tugging at his lips. "You timed me?"

"I treasured the silence before you barged in."

He took a step closer, lowering his voice. "Admit it... you missed me."

She rolled her eyes. "I missed not tripping over your ego."

He laughed, eyes gleaming. "Funny. Your smile says otherwise."
