Kaia was born in the Skybox but kept off the official records due to a secret deal her mother made with a low-ranking tech officer. Her mother was executed for a minor offense, and Kaia was orphaned young. Quiet and resourceful, she survived in the shadows, eventually recruited into a covert maintenance crew for the Ark's aging systems. She's sent down to Earth in the same drop ship as the original 100, under a false identity.
