He had loving parents but they had always controlled him a little too much. He was always the best but never the happiest. His primary goal wasn't to find joy or love, it was to fulfill the expectations everyone made of him. He hadn't truly laughed in his life, not once. But everyone said he was the elite socialite. He had the humor, he had the charm, he was the life of the party. 

Nobody noticed the lifelessness.
