Romance
Loving two brothers was never part of her plan. One was her best friend-her anchor, her constant, the boy who knew her inside out. The other was his twin brother-her boyfriend, her heartbeat, the one who made her believe in soulmates. To the outside world, it was simple: she spent all her time with him, laughed with him, leaned into his shoulder like home. But the world had it wrong. They mistook closeness for passion, friendship for romance. They didn't see the difference between the way she looked at him-with warmth-and the way she looked at his twin-with fire. They didn't know that when her phone lit up, her heart skipped only for one name. They didn't understand that love could be quiet and loud at the same time, and that what she shared with each brother was made of completely different threads. But when the brothers weren't there to speak for themselves, when questions and whispers started to twist the truth, how could anyone believe that her heart truly belonged to the one they didn't expect? ---

MANAL

A few minutes into the walk, I heard footsteps shuffling behind me. I tensed up and halted in my tracks. My heart began to pound violently in my chest. I felt too afraid to even do anything. I stayed glued to my spot, but that didn't stop the footsteps from approaching. Mustering all of the courage left in me, I spun around and to my utmost horror, two men - more like thugs were standing just few inches away from me. Ya Allah, please protect me! I don't want to die like this. I spun back around and started walking, my pace increasing rapidly. "Hey! Where the f*** do you think you're going, bit**" One of the men slurred. By the tone of his voice, I could tell he was tipsy or high. The rate of my fear intensified. MANAL ❀ ©2019
