Laurel Hobbes wasn't supposed to grow up with a normal life, normal family. she was supposed to be raised as The Nine. to become the head of the cult that had been in move for centuries.
She was supposed to kill a kitten perhaps a puppy at six. Then a prostitute, strapped to the table, at nine. And then, finally The Pythia, strapped to the table, at twelve.
Her own mother.
She was supposed to kill her own mother at the age of twelve to prove herself as The Nine.
But, it wasn't what happened. Because her older sister, from another father, found her and her mom. Cassandra Hobbes, Cassie, the profiler of the FBI.
Till this day laurel notices her sister muttering under her breath, 'two minutes. just two minutes difference can turn the world upside down.', whenever they go to visit their mothers grave.
The FBI was supposed to take every members of that cult, but despite the sacrifice Cassandra Hobbes had made that day, the few FBI members were somehow still loyal to their head and helped few cult heads escape.
It should've scared Laurel, more then her sister and her sisters family and friends were worrying. but somehow Laurel couldn't master that same fear or worry of her sister and the people around her.
She was nine when the few cult heads had escaped. it was safe to say that, almost a decade later, still there was no sign of trouble or chaos.
But Laurel got a bad feeling it won't be so quiet for long. she still had her past monsters to fight. her four years old self had some matters for her 17 years old self to take care off.
For a fact, Laurel knew she couldn't escape the cult she was born in to. The cult she was supposed to take over. The cult she was raised to take over.
"The blood belongs to The Pythia, The blood belongs to Nine."
She could still remember the way The Pythia's, her mother's, blood felt against her small hands. warm, thick.
She knew, either her future held her revenge or her destruction.
"Then let me die a hero's death."
If I could grow up differently, with my mom and dad- I wouldn't. I wouldn't because I don't want to doom someone else to my fate. To my destruction.
I had to fight my monsters every damn day and night. I had to live in the darkness. Being afraid wasn't an option-- ever.
It would scar and soon join my others to mark my body of another story.
But instead of his back leaving my sight as I stood on the wall of our old camp. It was me leaving on horseback as he woke in the chancellor's room his eyes just seeing the back of Erebus and I as the gates closed behind me, my body never turning around once as I raced through the night.
My arms were outstretched and my eyes were closed as I let the moment of us being airborne sketch itself in my mind.
The feeling of free falling, of weightlessness, of flight. Of freedom.
It's a constant war, one battle after another. And the only thing you can do is fight and hope you win.
We wouldn't be able to save everyone. Because this time, we had no control.
The 100 Fanfic, I own no rights to the show nor characters except the ones I create. enjoy.
Also rating this as mature because there are some choice words that help build the character as she is kind of a badass. Shoot. Lol perfect example. And she is a cursing machine because she didn't learn her manners.
