Eveyone knows about Pearl zhu , also known as pearl harbour, katarinas closest friend for almost 100 years before she inevitably leaves the woman behind after the vampire hunting catches the both of them . Nobody even notices ana's tears or heartache at the loss of her mother , but one can only imagine the severe emotional pain the young vampire was in as she watched her mother AND brother be put down like animals , pumped full of vervain , muzzled like dogs and caged away to be burnt in the church .
