Every millennia, the World Tree, Yggdrasil, bears a single fruit, an apple of divine knowledge known as the "forbidden fruit" not meant for mortal consumption. When two children wander into the Garden of Eden and stumble upon it and take a single bite their lives are transformed forever, they are given the chance to atone for their grave sin by helping in the everlasting conflict to maintain the balance between worlds by having the title of "Hunter" bestowed upon them by the gods.
