"Better Call Saul": Season Two, Episode One:"Amigo" Fan Fiction Episode Spec Script

Following the meteoric rise and ground-breaking success of "Breaking Bad," the long-awaited AMC network drama spin-off "Better Call Saul" has our hero, Saul Goodman taking center stage. Not the "criminal" lawyer we all thought we knew, Saul, a.k.a. James "Jimmy" McGill was actually once an upstanding, well-meaning court attorney. He was over-worked, overlooked and underpaid. He lived by the code of ethics handed down from his brother before him, only difference was, poor old Slippin' Jimmy just couldn't seem to catch a break. And sooner or later, it was going to be our Jimmy that would break.

This is my tribute - my humble salute, if you will, to Saul Goodman / Bob Odenkirk and to all that came before him . To the genius of Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, Bryan Cranston and each and every writer , actor, producer and crew member involved in the amazing legacy that is, was and always will be "Breaking Bad." And now, thankfully, "Better Call Saul."

I am but a lowly fan, one slack-jawed hack in a sea of clamoring sharks who can only stutter in sheer awe at the incredible, unparalleled talent involved in making this program possible. I know my life is better for it. It is not self-deprecating but accurate of me to say that no amount of my scribbling could ever come close to the epic perfection of what those writers created. However, it is my hope that the readers here will indulge my delusional “fan fantasy” by allowing me the opportunity to write and share this - my own little "Better Call Saul" episode spec script.

And so, I have. As I write this, the real-world show has just wrapped its first season.

Our protagonist is pushed to the brink in this imaginary season opener of mine when he is kidnapped and forced to face the people, places and sins of the past he thought he left far behind him in Albuquerque. And, in keeping with the Spanish one-word theme, the episode is entitled, "Amigo."
