Jungkook, an alien with feline features, crash-lands on Earth with a mission from his father, the King: find a mate and create an offspring to save his planet. He has only one year to succeed. College student Jimin discovers the injured alien during a walk in the forest. Jimin nurses Jungkook back to health, helping him learn human language and customs. Through gestures and the few words he learns, Jungkook explains his mission. Jimin and his best friend, Taehyung, assist Jungkook in finding a suitable human girl to carry his child. Jungkook struggles with the human concept of romance, as his planet's reproductive culture is vastly different, involving handmade gifts and open mating ceremonies.
As they search for a mate, Jimin falls deeply in love with Jungkook. He believes his feelings are futile since he cannot give Jungkook the child he needs. Meanwhile, Jungkook finds it difficult to develop feelings for the girls he meets because he is drawn to Jimin's gentle nature. Jungkook realizes he is in love with Jimin and begins to court him in the way of his home planet, which Jimin appreciates. As time runs out, Jungkook decides to confess his love to Jimin. They mate, but Jungkook must leave Earth and Jimin to return to his planet on his father's orders.
