"Screams. Gunshots. Chaos." -"WHERE IS HE? TELL ME, WHERE IS KORAY ARSLAN?" a man shouted. Once again, screams erupted from the people in the large hall. Not being able to see what was happening terrified me, but I could never pull my head out of here. In addition to a few women silently crying in the hall, there were men shouting at the guests to move to another place. The gunshots had stopped. The silence of death took over. Within the eerily quiet hall, the sound of a pair of shoes echoed, slowly coming closer to this side. As my heart started to pound like it was going to jump out of my chest, I held my breath, fearing they would hear it. Sweat beads began to form on my forehead, but at the same time, my body was freezing. As the tablecloth in front of me lifted, my eyes shifted to the person raising it. -"Bro!" the man in front of me called out. With the person in front of me calling to someone I couldn't see, the hand that was covering my mouth fell to my side. I started to breathe quietly. The man in the suit aimed the barrel of the gun he was holding at me. -"We found him. Koray Arslan's wife is here!" All events, characters, and locations in this story are purely fictional!

I hope you enjoy reading every part of this psychological thriller. Comments and suggestions are most welcome. Reproduction of any part of this original story is prohibited. PROLOGUE Head investigator, Brent Sherwood found a very distraught young woman at the crime scene. She was hiding in the walk-in closet behind the hanging wardrobes of the dead man. Her eyes were wary and scared. He asked for her name. "Nikola", she whispered in thick Italian accent. Her voice was full of anguish and despair . "Are you the dead man's daughter?" Brent asked the young woman whose exotic beauty was covered with sweat, tears and great fear. She shook her head and mumbled, "Wife". There's a pang of regret that stuck in his throat. In that moment of disbelief, he immediately erased that first impression to console a bereaved woman. Whoever believes in love at first? Such foolishness should be deleted off his mind. His feelings must not cloud his judgement. He must act in accordance to his job even if it's his first time to admire a woman after 3 years in solitude. Did she kill her husband? That's the question he must unravel before focusing on his own personal motive.
