In this story the reader lives in Victorian England but she hasn't seen much of it from a young age. At the age of seven her parents died and she was thrown out onto the streets. A month later she was found by a group of men and suddenly her world became known as a dark dingy cobblestone room with a straw mattress and only one tiny window that she couldn't reach because of her young, small body. The only contact she'd get was when she was fed.
