The Fifth Pearl

Four there are meant to be,
Only four to rule the sea.
If one should pass, another be born,
To replace the last and keep the four.
A fifth was born, to replace the passed,
But a lie it was on the four's behalf.
A trick, a lie, a mistake all the same,
The fifth will forever be shamed.

Remi Rose loves her foster family and would do anything for them. So, when the king decrees that all maidens of suitable age be brought to the palace for a selection process to become the next queen, she makes a deal with a dashing Captain Jace to take her foster sisters place. However, Remi Rose has a secret of her own, that if discovered, could warrant her execution. Not only is she in enemy territory in an age-old war, but she is a Pearl.
Will she survive or be found out? Will she find love along the way or betrayal?
