Sometimes the only way to guard your heart is to fake the play.
Alexa Cavanaugh- the new girl who's just trying to fly under the radar. She's moved more times in her short life of 18 years than anyone can count. She wants to feel like she belongs. Hopefully, this is the last place her father's business takes them. She has one goal for senior year: stay invisible. But fate has other plans-starting with Jonah Manhattan, the brooding star receiver with a complicated past... and a very familiar face.
A few summers back, Alexa and Jonah shared a few steamy kisses at a summer camp before they snapped back into their realities. Now that he's back into her life, he has one big request: pretend to be his girlfriend to convince his obsessive ex that he has moved on and to keep the school's attention off his crumbling home life. No strings. No Drama. One rule. Don't fall in love.
Jonah is known to be distant, especially since losing his sister and dealing with a father who only knows how to bruise. A bad boy reputation and sharp tongue can only go so far when it comes to keeping eyes from wandering why he suffers more bruises than the football tackles he receives.
Alexa isn't the same girl she was, and Jonah is opening up more. Walls begin to crack. As fake sparks turn dangerously real, they realize maybe this is their second chance. Will Jonah choose to protect his heart or finally let someone in?
