"Matt." I said. "Everyone's staring at us." I looked around. He looked at me. "So? Who cares? It's about me and
you tonight." He said with a smirk. I heard the whispers whenever I was with him. "Ooh, he's dangerous. Be careful
with him. He's bad news! Did you hear what he did?" I heard them all. Matt didn't acknowledge them. "Matt?" I asked.
"Yeah baby?" He answered. "Matt, why is everyone in this city so, so scared of you?" I said with confusion. He quickly stepped back. Some look of anger and sympathy crossed his face. "That's for me to know and you to find out." He said and walked away. Matt gets mad so easily and it's confusing. But I love him. Whatever it was, I was destined to find out why everyone in this town was so, so scared of Matt.

"Its me, baby." he let's out desperately and I squint my eyes trying to figure it out, his voice drawing me in as I slowly began to realize who this man was. "Its, Daddy." he says in an ever so soft voice, and it felt like everything around us froze as if it were just me and my father. Without saying anything, I launched forward and embraced him, holding on tight like my life depended on it. You finally came. "Daddy, I love you." Then my vision started hurting and I fell into my father's arms, my body felt cold and wet, completely numbing out. I could see blurs off people rushing our way and I could hear gasps and my name being repeatedly shouted. I couldn't respond, I couldn't react, and I lost all hearing and I could only hear ringing turning into silence as I stayed in my fathers arms, cold out. It hit me, I'm dying. With my littlest bit of force left, I barely clenched onto my father's shirt, then free fully released it. Everything was disappearing, I slowly dropped my eyes and all I seen now were the people closest to me, Luke, my mom, my dad, and Sara all crying, crying over me. Then, it ended. His words made me blush a little, and I was about to reply when I felt that familiar prickle on the back of my neck. I glanced toward the corner, where Mr. Whiskey Guy was sitting. Only this time, his gaze wasn't just lingering. It was burning. His eyes were locked on Mark, sharp and intense, and for the first time, I felt a real chill. There was something different about him now, something I couldn't quite name, but it sent a ripple of unease through me. I was about to look away, when he slowly shook his head at me, his eyes burning with something that looked closest to anger. It looked like a warning, and I froze, staring back at him, as he tiled his head, watching me intensely. The fuck? "You okay?" Mark asked, his voice pulling me back to the present. "Yeah," I said, forcing a smile. "Just got a little distracted." Mark nodded, his expression softening as he leaned a little closer. "Well, if you need a break or want to chat, I'm around." He reached out and lightly touched my hand, his fingers brushing mine for just a second, but it was enough to snap me out of the moment. Because across the room, I heard the sharp scrape of a chair against the floor. I looked up, my heart skipping a beat. He was now on his feet, his jaw clenched so tightly I could see the muscle twitch. His eyes, dark, angry, met mine for the briefest moment, and I swear the air in the room thickened. He didn't say a word, but it made me feel like I fucked up big time. Without a word, he stormed out, the door slamming behind him with a bang that made everyone in the bar pause for a second.
