Rica, a filipino girl who always felt like she didn't belong. In Manila, her adoptive family treated her like she was just an extra, na parang wala lang siya sa kanila. The only place she felt happy was when she read her favorite book, "Ang kwento ni Anastasia." She really relates to Anastasia, the adopted daughter of Duke Lucian who was also treated badly no matter what she does to impress them. Then, one night, there was a car accident. Everything went dark. When Rica woke up, she was no longer in her small crampy room. She was inside a cold, big room. She realized, she's Anastasia now. Her new family looked at her with the same cold eyes, but this time, Rica didn't feel hurt. Instead, she felt nothing. She just acted polite and distant, like she didn't care anymore. At first, her "mother," Lady Mary, was happy she was behaving. But soon, she noticed something was different. Anastasia's eyes were empty. Even his "brother," Finnian, who used to ignored her, got scared when Anastasia just stared at him without emotion. People started to whisper, "Nagbago siya, hindi na siya tulad ng dati." Anastasia built walls around her heart, stronger than any walls. The family who once ignored her now felt sorry, but it was too late. Rica, who had been hurt before, refused to feel that pain again. Now, as Anastasia, she was finally free- and deep inside, she knew that she would never let them hurt her again.

In the past four years, Raki poured her heart and soul into one thing-her son, Aldrius. At 17, the life she once knew shattered, her dreams faded, and the future became uncertain. She had no one except her Grams on her side because her family disowned her because of disappointment. The child's father however, was a different plot - someone she never met again after the night of March 31st. Now, 21, she is forced to return home and leave the quiet life she tried to build so hard for her, and her son in Madrid. However, when she comes home, she learns the painful truth that everyone tried to hide from her, and a very heart wrenching news-her best friend is dead. She died after coming back from visiting her in Spain four years ago. She felt the sense of responsibility to uncover the truth behind her death that leads her to the man she never expected to be him - the person that always piqued her son's interest, and the one her genes didn't even stand a chance with, the person with a "shining, shimmering, splendid" abs. He is very real and not just a fragment of her past that she tried so hard to forget- the twist is? She thought he was just some stranger and also caught up that night, but all along he is someone she knew. Torn between the guilt of being the last person her best friend visited before she died and the fear of him finding out about their child, Raki decides to finally face and dig the past she forcefully buried. She entered their home as a cook, however not only she uncovers the truth behind her best friend's death, she also uncovers the whole untwisted truth and reality in that mansion. Will that truth finally unleash the ties that binds her to her past and keeps her from moving forward in the present? Will she finally have answers to the questions that lingered in her mind in the past years, and finally find the real peace and love she deserves?
