After their parents' death and moving with their aunt Elena, Evelyn and Jeremy all took different paths to cope. Elena wrote in her diary and kept to herself, Jeremy took to drugs, and Evelyn acted as if nothing happened causing their close sibling bond to break. When school starts back up everything about their lives changed again when Stephan and Damon Salvatore enter their lives. At first Evelyn and Elena both fall for Stephan, but Evelyn eventually falls for Damon.
