Riku is a history major who plays it safe. Aric is a music major who lives in the moment. What starts as a quiet friendship in the college library slowly unfolds into something far more complicated-a years-long slow burn of stolen glances, unspoken feelings, and almost-confessions. As they navigate messy relationships, crowded dorm rooms, and moments that feel too close to be platonic, the question lingers: will they ever say what they really feel? A story about timing, tension, and the ache of almosts.

In the bustling halls of Riverside University, two students couldn't be more different. Ava Reyes, a journalism major known for her soft heart and sharp words, believes in truth, empathy, and good coffee. Liam Cruz, a perfectionist business major, believes in results, logic, and winning especially when it comes to the annual campus writing competition. They've clashed since freshman year her messy notes against his color-coded spreadsheets, her warmth against his cool detachment. When fate (and a meddling professor) pairs them for the university's biggest creative project, sparks fly and not the friendly kind. But deadlines have a way of forcing people together. Between late-night coffee runs, heated arguments, and unexpected laughter, Ava and Liam begin to realize: maybe love doesn't start with butterflies. Maybe it starts with irritation, shared coffee cups, and the quiet realization that you've stopped trying to win.
