The feeling of holding the person he loves most will forever be part of his skin. Her warmth agents his will eternaly be burned into his flesh, no matter how hard people try to erase it.

Again and again, they wipe his mind, but somehow she stays. Like a rock in a shoe, no one can shake it out.

Out of ideas, HYDRA uses the love between the widow and the soldier to their advantage. They use her to keep the soilders in line, to keep him under their control. She's a carrot being dangled in front of his face. But he obeys.

If anything were to happen to her because of him... he'd simply never rid himself of that gash. He doesn't know why he cares so much. But he does.

Then something changes, they slowly see each other less and less. Now simple shadows only to be seen for a sliver of a second in dim hallways. Then... he's gone.

They moved him to New York. Closer to an infratrated S.H.I.E.L.D. base. They thought her useless to him now. Her skills are needed elsewhere, for more important missions.

It's been three years since they last saw each other. Each day she prays that the man she loves hasn't been stripped of the little life he has and is now an empty cold shell - the shell she's been fighting to keep full for decades.

She's going to find him, to see him, no matter how hard she has to fight.

But, maybe finding him doesn't solve all her problems. Maybe finding him is the start of them all.
