The Day you Broke Me

In the zombie apocalypse, you should not be alone. 13-year old Casper knows this. And she defies it. Ever since the zombies raided her base and killed everyone she loved, Casper closed herself in. Solo meant to betrayal. Independence was her salvation. She could tend to herself and her kitten, and she'd survive. No complications anymore. Just peace. But Casper's lifestyle would not last long. While housing a couple that needs a place to stay, she learns shocking news. It turns out zombies are not the real enemy after all. A huge movement known as the Iridescence is stealing supplies from huge bases with thousands of people. And those people were taken prisoner. Servants. Breeding tools. Entertainment. Soldiers. The members of the Iridescence believed they were saving humanity. Casper knew she was right to stay alone. She would tend to herself and her cat and stay alone. Unnoticed. Until the Iridescence turned their bloodshot eyes towards her base. The couple she had grown fond of was taken away, and Casper refused to let them disappear forever. So she waits. She gets captured too.

As the days grow longer, Osiris finds himself drawn platonically to this strange girl. And he finds himself keeping the fact that he will inherit the Iridescence hidden.

Casper knows there is something off about Osiris. Why does everyone else shrink away when they see the prisoner?Her original plan was to get herself and the couple out of this hellhole, but she decides to help Osiris too. He now has a deity of a choice. Run with Casper, or stay loyal?
